Andrew is encouraging local schools to utilize the Royal British Legion’s free lesson plans on the First World War and Remembrance.
The Royal British Legion are publicising a series of new educational resources which they have produced alongside the National Literacy Trust. These resources aim to teach Remembrance in schools and to commemorate the First World War generation - those who served, sacrificed, and changed our world. Andrew is encouraging local schools to utilize the free resources.
Andrew, who has worked with the Royal British Legion numerous times in both Westminster and locally, says, “The Legion is committed to helping young people understand Remembrance, conflict and sacrifice.
“As a former teacher myself, I am delighted that they are offering these free learning resources to schools. The lesson plans and assembly packs are aimed at Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, with choices suitable for use in English, history and science classes.”
These resources can be found online on the Royal British Legion’s website: https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/remembrance/teaching-remembrance/remembrance-lesson-plans
