Andrew welcomes news that Goole will now be responsible for building 80% of Piccadilly Line Trains.
Andrew explains, "I've alluded to this before, but great news that Siemens have now formally announced that 80% of trains for the Piccadilly Line will now be built here in Goole.
"When Siemens first planned the factory, the plan was for 50% to be done here and the other 50% in Europe. That balance has now shifted significantly in favour of Goole.
"This is great news and further evidence of how this project has expanded way beyond anything any of us expected when we were working to bring this facility to Goole.
"Indeed I remember some naysayers at the time taking to social media to say they didn't believe me or saying things such as 'I'll believe it when I see it'. Well, you can now well and truly see it!! Also a timely reminder of how it's best not to believe those who spend their days on Facebook and elsewhere posting negative comments and talking our town down!""
