PM and Cabinet Visit Goole

Andrew welcomed the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, to Goole this week.

Following the visit, Andrew said, "Great to welcome the PM and the Cabinet to Siemens in Goole today. This is a really big win for the town having the Cabinet meeting, which of course normally takes place weekly in No.10, take place here in Goole!

"The PM met with Siemens' senior team as well as with apprentices and staff and toured the facility. Following that, the Cabinet meeting took place in the Components Facility - you can see the PM checking out his seat. This is now the third Prime Minister I've brought to the town, with the first being David Cameron, when he opened Tom Pudding Way which was funded by the Conservative government and which really set off the whole Goole 36 development.

"I am immensely proud that at every stage, the Government has provided funding and support to the whole Goole 36 development. People often criticise without realising just how much support has been provided to our local economy.

"Before the PM arrived I joined the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper MP, at the site to discuss future rail development in the UK and to also hear about the hundreds of millions of transport funding he has announced for East Riding and North Lincs today.

"As I serve out my last few months as our MP I am immensely proud of having played a part in all of this and even prouder of knowing that Goole is well and truly on the map!""
