Andrew recently joined Cllr John Barrett for a meeting with representatives of East Riding Council (ERYC) and the Canal and River Trust to discuss progress on the Goole to Rawcliffe cycleway/ Aire and Calder Towpath Trail project.
Andrew reports, “ERYC have put in a funding bid for the Aire and Calder Towpath Trail project, which will now go through a competitive assessment process, and I have lobbied ministers on behalf of the project.
“This proposal will provide an all-weather route for walkers and cyclists that will run alongside the Aire and Calder Navigation Canal and Dutch River between the Yorkshire Waterways Museum in Goole and the marina in Rawcliffe Bridge. The new infrastructure will not only provide a scenic route for recreational activities, such as walking and cycling, but also an excellent connection for commuters in the Goole and Rawcliffe area.
“As always, I will keep residents updated as and when I receive further updates.”
