Wellbeing Hub and Youth Centre in Broughton

The former Broughton Infant School site, on Brigg Road, Broughton, is now being put to good use after it was secured for the community thanks to efforts from Andrew and local Councillors.

Andrew comments, “I’m pleased that through working with local Councillors, Holly and Ivan, we have been able to turn the former school site into a modern and accessible venue which is available for the local community.

These Wellbeing hubs provide advice and support for vulnerable adults, offering a range of activities and services; including wellbeing checks for anyone over 75, and, alongside the events run by the Youth Centre, mean that this site will benefit the whole community.”

Cllr Ivan Glover reports, “As we reported last time, Little Acorns are now in situ. The site is also now home to the Youth Centre and the Community Wellbeing Hub, securing these services for Broughton.”

Cllr Holly Mumby-Croft continues, “The Wellbeing Hub is designed to support our older and disabled residents. For example, a free ’Table Top Games’ session is to be offered on a Tuesday between 2pm and 4pm, along with a ‘Bring Your Own Craft and Natter’ session on a Thursday between 10am and noon. These are free sessions and as the service develops, more sessions and events will be offered at the centre.”
