Visiting Green Team

Green_Team_2

Last week I visited a local charity, Green Team, who offer a gardening service to East Riding elderly and disabled people within a 10 mile radius of Goole.

It was a pleasure to meet Paul and Elaine who jointly co-ordinate the Green Team in Goole. They took me to meet some volunteers (pictured) that were busy clearing the garden of a local elderly resident. Green Team really do offer a valuable service to local people.

The team kindly presented me with one of their vegetable bags, made up of vegetables grown on their allotment site which is used as a training base for the group's volunteers. My bag included tomatoes, beans, a pepper and even a melon! I heartily recommend the bags and I made good use of mine.

As with all charities, the Green Team are always looking for extra volunteers so please get in touch if you would like to lend a hand or wish to know more about the gardening or vegetable bag service. They can be contacted on 01405 837126 or at www.thegreenteam.org.uk
