Summer Reading Challenge and other Free Activities at Local Libraries

Andrew is encouraging local children and families to take advantage of the various activities taking place in libraries across the constituency.

Andrew reports, “Residents may remember me mentioning the Summer Reading Challenge which is taking place both online and in our local libraries during the summer holidays. This is an annual initiative which encourages children, aged 4-11, to read and enjoy books during the summer.

“In addition, East Riding Libraries are offering a series of other free activities for children this summer to inspire learning, creativity, and fun.

“I am informed that “STREAM events” are a programme of activities for children and families which focus on developing skills and interest in Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

“There are a variety of different events available, including Lego and Duplo activities, along with storytime sessions. For more information about these sessions and where they will take place, please see the following link: www.eastridinglibraries.co.uk/whats-on

“The Summer Reading Challenge is also taking place in North Lincs’ libraries. In addition, there will be a number of other activities for children and families, including the return of Fuelled, the council’s Government-funded holiday activity programme.
