Andrew has recently been made aware of the Students on Ice (SOI) Polar expedition programme which might be of interest to secondary and post-secondary school students in our area.
Andrew reports, "The Students on Ice Foundation educates young people around the world on the importance of the Polar Regions. As part of this effort, they have taken over 2500 students and staff on their educational expeditions to the Polar Regions. Moreover, the Foundation is committed to providing this opportunity to young people regardless of their socio-economic or cultural backgrounds. As such, over 80% of applicants are provided with scholarships to cover their expedition costs.
"The next Arctic expedition will take place between July 23 and August 7, 2019. Unfortunately, it is now too late to apply for a scholarship to take part in this expedition; however, they are still accepting applications from students who plan to fundraise or self-fund their expedition fee. Additionally, you can register your interest in future expeditions on the Students on Ice website."
