As we move towards these much needed works progressing, a number of residents have been in touch to raise concerns about the length of the proposed road closures. I know residents very much support the improved flood defence which I have worked hard to secure funding for with the Council and EA, so these concerns are not a criticism of the works.
I just wanted to let residents know that we are working closely with the Council on this who inform me that, "Works are progressing but alternative options to road closures are currently being looked at. The scheme is still in the design stages and traffic management proposals being developed. As the scheme progresses these arrangements will be communicated with the community.”
