Andrew was on the Isle last Friday to attend the digging of the first sod for the half a million pound classroom extension at South Axholme Academy. Andrew was joined by local Councillors Liz Redfern and Dave Robson. Together, the local Conservative team found the funding for this project which will help support the schools expansion into providing a sixth form. Andrew has worked closely with the school on the sixth form proposal, lobbying Ministers and officials for the necessary approvals.
Andrew reports, "South Axholme is a cracking school and one I have taught in on a number of occasions. The local Council deserves credit for finding funding for this additional money and, once again, Cllr Liz Redfern has delivered for the Isle.
"It was also great to visit the school just hours after the Government announced additional funding of £153 per pupil from next year, to address the terrible underfunding of local schools by Labour."
