Andrew met with Finbarr Dowling, Project Manager for Siemens, last week in Goole for an update on their plans for a new rail factory in the town. Mr Dowling updated Andrew on recent recruitment efforts as they build their project team here in East Yorkshire and also talked about other opportunities that may also be available for Siemens in the town.
Andrew reports, "It was great to meet with Finbarr again for another update, especially following the recent dirty tricks we have seen one Labour MP engaged in against the Goole project. I am frankly shocked that another MP from the North of England is trying to undermine this incredible investment. Fortunately, Siemens, myself and Goole as a whole, are not going to let this nonsense derail what is planned for our town.
“Finbarr informed me that he has made good progress in establishing his project team here in East Yorkshire. Moreover, Siemens are making the necessary partnerships with local colleges and training providers, to ensure that local people are best placed to benefit from these new jobs.
“Siemens are working very closely with the Government on this project and I have once again promised Siemens that I will continue to play my part in driving this project forward. There are lots of other exciting conversations taking place with Siemens about other projects and opportunities in the town and we look forward to further discussions on those.
