Siemens Components Facility Opening

Andrew welcomed Secretary of State Michael Gove for a visit to Siemens in Goole last Thursday.

Andrew reports, "It was great to welcome Levelling Up Secretary, Michael Gove, to Goole on Thursday for the opening of the Components Facility at Siemens.

"The facility was not part of the original plans for the new train factory in Goole but Siemens decided to bring the facility here, creating a further 60-70 jobs, some of which are being recruited for at the moment. This means that work that otherwise would have been undertaken overseas is now being done in Goole.

"We particularly enjoyed speaking with some of the company's apprentices. It is also good to see this project coming to fruition and I am proud to have helped secure some of the government funding which has made it possible, including the millions for the road which opened up the Goole 36 site.

"The decison to add this facility is a boost of confidence in Goole with Siemens presently looking at bringing other parts of their rail business to Goole!

"The factory is now built and some recruitment has already commenced with much more planned in the coming months as the company recruits hundreds of workers for the site."

Residents can keep an eye on jobs here.
