Last week Andrew welcomed the Opposition House leader in Canada, and former Speaker of the Canadian Parliament; Andrew Scheer MP, to the constituency whilst he was on a visit to the UK.
Andrew Percy MP reports, “I’m always keen to raise the profile of our area and when people are visiting I try and get them up to the constituency. We were able to see a lot of the area during Andrew’s brief visit and I think he was very impressed.”
Andrew Scheer MP commented, “Andrew always talks passionately about Brigg & Goole and the Isle of Axholme. He’s visited my constituency in Regina, Canada, so I was delighted to come up and see the area for myself whilst over here. I found everyone in both Yorkshire and Lincolnshire very friendly.
Andrew’s doing a great job, not just nationally but also internationally in promoting the region. He has a strong reputation in Canada of always putting constituents first and it was great to come over and see why he’s so passionate about the area.”
