Scams Awareness Campaign 2019

Citizens Advice are working together with the Consumer Protection Partnership, Trading Standards and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to run their 2019 Scams Awareness campaign. The campaign is running between 10 - 23 June and the goal is to encourage people to: ‘stop, report, talk’ if they think they have been targeted by a scam or fraud.

Andrew adds, "Citizens Advice's research has found that 61% of people have been targeted by scammers in the last 2 years. Moreover, I am informed that nearly 40% of people had been targeted 5 or more times.

"Unfortunately, less than half of people targeted by a scam don’t tell anyone, including friends, family, and relevant authorities. This makes it difficult to know the true impact that scams have in our local communities and also makes it harder to bring scammers to justice. Please share this campaign in order to prevent further innocent victims falling to these crimes."
