East Riding Council are encouraging residents to recycle their textile items as part of a summer campaign.
The first textile amnesty event is being held in Goole next week on Tuesday 25th June. A recycling van will be travelling to the following locations in Goole:
• 10am-11am – Cottingham Street
• 11.15am-12.15pm – Tennyson Street
• 1.30pm-2.30pm – Estcourt Street car park
• 2.45pm-3.30pm – Cross Street West
You can take your old duvets, sheets, towels, clothes and shoes etc for recycling, rather than putting them in household bins. If you can’t make the times above, you should instead take those items to clothing banks, charity shops and household waste recycling sites/ tips.
Andrew adds, "As I’ve mentioned previously, the East Riding has the highest recycling rate in England. Please spread the message on textile recycling so we can build on that great achievement."
