Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s national campaign will also focus on body image - how we think and feel about our bodies and the impact that can have on our mental health.

Andrew says, "Mental health problems can affect anyone at any time. Sadly, many of us feel unable to discuss our mental health issues. This week is an opportunity to encourage people to open up about their mental health and wellbeing."

A number of events are taking place nationally to raise awareness of mental health. You can find out more and get involved here and here.

Moreover, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2019, East Riding Council are running a number of adult learning courses in order to promote the benefits that learning can have on our mental wellbeing.

These taster courses are free and are open to all learners over the age of 19. The courses include art, sewing, pottery and more. Some courses will be run from Goole Adult Learning Centre, Pasture Road. Find out more here.

North Lincolnshire residents can also find out more about local mental health and wellbeing online here.
