Meeting with Vodafone to Discuss Mobile Coverage

Andrew met with representatives of Vodafone recently to discuss their ongoing work to tackle poor mobile phone coverage spots in our area.

Andrew reports, "This meeting follows on from the survey I sent out to residents in Broughton last year, in which I asked for feedback on mobile coverage and broadband in the town. As I previously mentioned, the response was fantastic - over 500 completed surveys were returned, which I shared with the various network operators. Following this, both O2, who share infrastructure with Vodafone, and EE/BT Group informed me that they would undertake works to improve 4G coverage in Broughton.

"During the meeting with Vodafone, I was informed that they, in conjunction with O2, had further plans to improve mobile coverage in the local area. They explained that a number of mobile phone masts are scheduled to be put up throughout the constituency in some of our worst coverage spots. It’s also worth noting that these masts will be constructed by O2, as O2 share their physical infrastructure with Vodafone. This means that both O2 and Vodafone customers will benefit from the improved coverage.

"Vodafone were not currently able to give exact timings for when these masts will be put up but mentioned a timeframe of between 12-18 months. I will keep residents informed as I receive further details on this and any other relevant updates on my longstanding fight to improve coverage in our area."
