Marshlands Sewing Brigade Calling for More Volunteers

As residents may be aware, Andrew has been supporting the Marshlands Sewing Brigade efforts to sew scrubs for the NHS and recently delivered some of their scrubs to the local NHS. The Marshlands Sewing Brigade has now been asked for further supplies of scrubs, which the group are more than happy to make for the NHS.

Andrew explains, "The seamstresses are from a variety of locations including the Marshlands, Hook, Goole, Old Goole, Airmyn, East Cowick and as far away as Doncaster. Some are new to sewing and just want to do their bit for the NHS, and others are more experienced.

"Under the care and leadership of Fran Ward the group work at their own speed, and Cllrs Sargeantson and Fox deliver and collect fabric bundles and completed scrubs. Reedness Parish Council clerk Sarah Belton controls all aspects of admin and ordering and has been a massive contributor in helping to deliver to the ladies.

"Due to the success of the Marshlands Sewing Brigade and the additional orders, the group are hoping to recruit some more volunteers to join them. If you can sew and can spare a few hours a week, please contact Cllr Liz Sargeantson. Feel free to get in touch at andrew.percy.mp@parliament.uk and we can register your interest in volunteering."
