Andrew has provided the following update on the ongoing leadership election.
Andrew explained on Facebook, "As residents know, I prefer to keep my updates on here to local issues as, to be honest, those are the issues that interest me the most.
"However, a few folks have gotten in touch to ask who I am backing for the leadership.
"At the moment, to be totally honest, I haven't the foggiest idea. Some candidates I could never support but there are a fair few I have always got on with, respected and have done right by us on local issues when I've taken them to them.
"Over the weekend I met or spoke with a number of the candidates and today, along with my neighbour Holly Mumby-Croft, we are meeting with some of the other candidates.
"Holly and I are meeting candidates together as we really want to push on them the issues which matter most to our area including; steel issues, health policy, levelling up, regional growth etc.
"So far, we've had some good and not so good answers from candidates. When the answers haven't been what we've wanted we've pursued the candidates again for further meetings.
"Genuinely an open book at this stage on where my vote might go. As ever, always happy to hear from residents on this issue. "
