Andrew has provided the following update on the Imagination Library on his Facebook page.
Following my post from a couple of weeks ago, I am pleased to report that we have added nearly 70 children from the Goole and Snaith area to the under-5s free book gifting scheme I run locally. Under-5s in North Lincs of course are all entitled to these books thanks to North Lincs Council funding the service.
I fundraise all of the money for the Goole and Snaith Dolly Parton Imagination Library myself and, thanks to a generous donation from Sterling Capitol, we were able to open more spaces recently.
We had such a good response to the recent post I put up I was worried we would not be able to accommodate everyone. Step forward Goole Mayor, Josie Head, who got her cheque book out and a made a kind donation to the scheme which means we have been able to accommodate pretty much every application!
Thanks so much to Josie and to Sterling Capitol. All our new kids will get their first book - Peter Rabbit containing a special message from Dolly shortly - before then receiving a different book in the post every month which will vary according to their age.
