Imagination Library Continues to Grow

Andrew has welcomed the latest registration numbers for the North Lincolnshire Imagination Library which show over 11,000 children currently registered.

The scheme, which is available for children aged 0-5 and provides a free, age appropriate book each month, covers the whole of North Lincolnshire. Over 80% of children in each locality are currently registered, with an impressive 92% of children on the Isle signed up and receiving these books!

Whilst the Imagination Library continues to grow with new registrations, over 3,000 children have also ‘graduated’ from the scheme due to their age and the Council is working with parents and children’s centres to look at ways to continue their reading development.

Andrew says, “I’m really proud of how successful this scheme has been locally. We’ve had a tremendous response from parents and we are already seeing a positive impact on reading ability for those children who are registered.

North Lincolnshire Council recently again promised funding for this scheme in North Lincolnshire and I would like to thank everyone involved for their support.

In the East Yorkshire patch of the constituency we also have the Goole & Snaith Imagination Library, which we fundraise locally for, and I look forward to both schemes continuing to support local children and their families.”
