East Riding Council are giving away 5,000 bags of compost for free to East Riding residents.
This is an annual giveaway, which will be held at nine sites across the area over a period of two weeks. Goole’s giveaway will take place on Thursday 16 May at 4pm – Goole, West Park, DN14 6UU. Residents can collect two free 15kg bags of compost per car.
Andrew adds, "This compost comes from the recycled food and garden waste that residents put in the brown recycling bins. This includes recycled food, peelings, egg shells, leaves, flowers and more. I understand that the East Riding now has the highest recycling rate in England, thanks to the support of residents."
