Sorry for delay on this, I have literally been sitting at my screen on Zoom calls all day until now!
I am told that the concerns of flooding in our area have reduced considerably. The major concern was the River Aire of course where the washlands have been filling, including Gowdall Ings which I saw for myself yesterday.
I was told this afternoon that there remains plenty of capacity in the washlands, they should stop filling today, levels will start to recede, Snaith washland is highly unlikely to be utilised and we have an improving picture for the next 5 days!
The EA and others will be keeping a close eye on it so no parties yet please (banned anyways) as we are still in winter storm period and land remains saturated.
