Essential Works to Rawcliffe Bridge Crossing to Start on 17 June

East Riding Council has announced that essential works to strengthen the bridge at Rawcliffe Bridge will start next week on Monday, 17 June - expected to be completed by March, 2020.

Andrew says, "The council explain that, to ensure the works are completed efficiently and safely, they will have to close the bridge to all traffic for the duration of the work, with a signed diversion route being put in place. However, they add that provisions will be made for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the bridge safely.

"Once the work is complete, the bridge will reopen to all vehicles, travelling in single file under a traffic light priority system.

"I have been pressing the council for these repairs, which they have wanted to resolve for some time, and welcome their action to undertake the final phase of works."
