Environment Agency Flood Alert - Tidal River Aire catchment.

Andrew has been informed that a Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Andrew reports, "This is, of course, the lowest level of warning, which we get a number of every year. These alerts normally pass without incident; however, I thought it would be best to make residents aware."

Flood Alert in force: Tidal River Aire catchment.

Flooding is possible for: The River Aire from Haddlesey Weir to Airmyn.

Be prepared.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. We expect river levels to peak at 13:30 on 13/03/2019. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads including A645 Branch Road around Snaith. We expect river levels to start falling in the early hours of Thursday 14/03/2019. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast.

Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

This message will be updated by 21:00 on 113/03/2019, or as the situation changes.
