Elsham Water Treatment Works Visit

Andrew provided the following update following his visit to Elsham water works.

Andrew reports, *"I had a great visit to Anglian Water's Elsham water works last Friday. The works provide much of the drinking water for the Brigg and Scunthorpe area.

"It was very interesting to hear how our local drinking water is sourced and how it is treated. Anglian Water are planning further improvements to our drinking water with the installation of UV treatment. This is similar to what I saw at Yorkshire Water's Snaith treatment works a little while back.

"The Anglian works sit on the site of the former World War 2 RAF Elsham Wolds which played such a pivotal role in that war and indeed in World War One intercepting zeppelins. Apparently some of the gliders used for the assault on Pegasus Bridge on D Day also trained at Elsham.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I also heard about Anglian's 200 mile pipe project to allow them to deal with water shortages elsewhere on their network.""*
