Andrew provided the following update after his visit to the Crowle Peatland Railway on Friday.
Andrew reports, "It was great to be in Crowle on Friday for the official opening of the Crowle Peatland Railways new facilities ahead of the public open day this weekend. My job was to open the new cafe officially!
"The volunteers have done an amazing job on this project which is helping to preserve an important part of the history of the Moors and the Isle.
"We are proud to have helped support this project by helping secure much of the funding for the project which includes the restoration of the old engines that used to operate on the Moors. Track has been laid which will help take visitors to the walkways on the Moors for all to enjoy.
"Well done to all the volunteers for their hardwork and to Cllr Julie Reed who has done a lot of the leg work on the funding bids.
