Community Pub Hero Awards - Jemmy Hirst Rawcliffe

Andrew visited the Jemmy Hirst pub on Friday to celebrate their recognition at the Community Pub Hero Awards.

Andrew explains, "It was great to join Jill Taylor, landlady of the Jemmy Hirst at the Rose and Crown, in Rawcliffe on Friday to celebrate Jill and the pub recently making the finals of the Community Pub Hero Awards.

"The awards are organised by Pub Aid and the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group (of which I am a member!) As a way of recognising the value of pubs and the brewing industry to community life and our economy.

"It was great to chat with Jill and some of the regulars and to officially sign Jill's awards certificate.

"The pub is a great venue and is named in honour of a local eccentric, Jemmy Hirst, who you can read more about here - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jemmy_Hirst

"Quite the character! Really well done to Jill and the pub for their nomination and for the work they do providing the community with a much valued venue. Great beer selection too!"
