Andrew and local Councillors are delighted that Post Office services have now returned to the village of Burton-upon-Stather following the retirement of the previous postmistress.
Andrew reports, “I’m really pleased that we have been able to get these services back up and running for local residents and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and support. It was a pleasure to attend the opening and hear how well the new service is going.
When we came to power we scrapped Labour’s Post Office closure programme, which saw over 4,000 Post Office’s closing nationally. The Post Office works closely with local communities and this service is an ’Outreach’ postal service, which will be run from the church.”
The Post Office is open in St Andrew’s Church Mondays 9.30am to 12.30pm, Wednesdays 10.00am to 1.00pm and Thursdays 9.30am to 11.30am.
