Brigg Angling Club Improvements

Andrew recently visited Manley Gardens in Brigg to welcome funding for the fishing pond.

Andrew reports, "It was great to be down at Manley Gardens, Brigg last week to celebrate funding from the Community Fund we created at the Council in 2011 to improve the fishing pond. Thanks to a grant of about £5000 new fishing spots have been put in place and improved disability access is being provided.

"The Brigg Syndicate Angling Club received the funding and thanks to some additional donations, where able to add in more fishing stands than originally planned. Not only does this make the location safer for users, it also opens up access for those with disabilities.

"I was joined by Ward Councillors, Carl and Nigel Sherwood and Rob Waltham to formally hand over the cheque and to welcome the naming of the pond as 'Charlies Pond' in honour of one of the founder members, Charlie Taylor, who passed away recently."
