Barnetby Drainage Works

Last week, Andrew was in Barnetby for a site visit to see first-hand the drainage works currently being undertaken in the village.

The £500,000 scheme, which includes £142,000 of funding from the Conservative Government, consists of a new buried pumping station, drainage system and underground storage. The scheme is designed to protect properties on the Woodlands and works are due to be completed in mid-August.

Andrew says, “I lobbied Government for funding for this project and I’m pleased that works have now started on this important scheme. This is just one of a number of schemes being delivered locally to protect residents and I am continuing to work hard along with the Council and local residents on the issue of flooding.

It was good to see that the concrete inspection chambers were manufactured only a few miles away in the constituency.”
