Andrew Welcomes Massive Investment in Local Schools

North Lincolnshire’s Conservative-run Council is set to invest nearly £4.6 million in schools across North Lincolnshire this year.

Over the past few years Andrew has worked closely with Councillors and local schools to secure money for improvements. The money will be spent on increasing the supply of school places as well as repairing and maintaining existing school buildings across the region.

The following funding has now been secured for our local area –

·         Alkborough Primary School will receive £80,000 to refurbish the original building.

·         £1.8 million will be spent on major refurbishment work at schools across the area including Sir John Nelthorpe School, Brigg, and Althorpe and Keadby Primary School in the constituency.

·         Winterton Infant School will receive £100,000 and Winterton Junior School will receive £615,000 for roofing, heating and other improvements.

·         Burton Primary School will receive £250,000 to help finish areas off following their government-funded new build.

·         Burton Play will receive £30,000.

Andrew reports, “I welcome this investment from the Conservative-run North Lincolnshire Council in our local schools. I have worked closely with local Councillors, schools and parents on this and we are committed to making our local schools fit for the future; providing top quality facilities and resources for local pupils to learn to the best of their abilities.

A record number of pupils locally are now being taught in good or outstanding schools and we would like to pay credit to teachers locally for this.”
