Andrew Visits Goole Hospital’s Palliative Care Family Room

Andrew visited the recently opened Palliative Care Family Room at Goole Hospital the other week to see the facilities on offer and meet with staff supporting patients and their families there.

The room, which is located on Ward 2 in Goole Hospital, is available for use by relatives of patients receiving palliative care and provides a separate, quiet space for them.

Andrew says, “I was really pleased to visit the recently opened family room and to see what a fantastic space it is for families and relatives of those receiving palliative care. This room is a credit to everyone who has supported the project and I would like to say a big thank you to Cllr Josie Head and everyone involved in the fundraising that made this brilliant idea happen. The staff at the hospital are doing an incredible job in supporting patients and their families, and we really appreciate their efforts.

I asked Josie what I could contribute towards the room and she informed me that all they needed at the moment was a flask. I was more than happy to donate one to the room and it’s the little things like being able to go and get a hot drink when needed that can help make such a difference at really difficult times like these, which is why this room is so important.
