Andrew Meets Royal British Legion to Discuss Support for the Armed Forces Community

Andrew is pleased to be supporting the Royal British Legion’s Everyday Needs Grant scheme.

Andrew recently joined David Davis MP to meet with the RBL in Parliament and discuss their new scheme. The scheme is designed to help people with essentials such as kitchen appliances, clothes and heating. Grants are worth up to £2,400 over 12 months and are available to people including serving and ex-serving personnel and their families, dependents and carers

Members of the Armed Forces community who receive means-tested benefits should automatically qualify. Those who do not receive such benefits may also qualify, however, so please do enquire.

The Legion encourages any member of the Armed Forces community who is struggling with the cost of living to apply.

Andrew said “The RBL do a fantastic job supporting veterans, service men and women and their families. This new fund will offer further support to those struggling with the global rise in food, fuel and energy prices.

“The government is providing unprecedented financial support to households this winter to bring down energy bills and this fund will awful extra support and reassurance to those who have served our country and their families."

Mr Davis said, “The Royal British Legion has a fantastic record of supporting those who have served their country, many of whom made great sacrifices doing their jobs. The Everyday Needs Grant scheme builds upon this history, offering further help at a time when people are facing enormous financial pressure.”
