Andrew Meets Beal Homes to Discuss Goole Development

Andrew met with Richard Beal, Chief Executive of Beal Homes, last Friday to discuss plans for new homes in the town.

Running over four phases, the development off Rawcliffe Road would see up to 800 new homes built in the town. The development would offer a mix of housing from 1 bed to 4 bed homes, with a portion of the homes constructed as affordable housing. The first phase of the project, which includes 200 houses, is due to be submitted for planning to the East Riding Council shortly.

Andrew explains "I wanted to sit down with Richard to discuss the plans and to offer some feedback from local residents.

“Beal Homes are an East Yorkshire based housebuilder with a long record of successful developments across the county. They have already undertaken a lot of work ahead of the planning application, including on the very important issues of drainage and flooding attenuation.

“I explained to Richard that whilst residents will have differing views on the proposals, a number of residents have contacted me with comments regarding ensuring that sufficient services are put in place to support the new housing. The proposals already include plans for a new primary school and drainage infrastructure but we also discussed comments regarding GP services etc.

“It was also an opportunity to discuss how local contractors and workers can be used as part of any development. Beal Homes assured me that this is absolutely their intention, and they have already been approached by a number of contractors in the Goole area who they have added to their tender list. Moreover, they will be doing more work to engage local schools and the college as the proposals progress.

“If permission is received from the Council for the first phase of the development, the plan is then to commence works on the site this year. As always, I'll keep residents updated as we hear more."
