Andrew Attends Keadby SSE Drop-In

Last week Andrew and Cllr John Briggs and Julie Reed attended a public drop-in at St Oswald’s Hall, Keadby, to view the plans for a second power station by SSE. This project already has planning permission for a 710MW CCGT plant at the Keadby site but SSE still have yet to make an investment decision.

Andrew says, "The three of us were interested to see the plans and speak with the SSE team. The decision on whether to actually construct this new power station has not finally been made.

We welcome that the design has altered a little to make it less industrial looking. We also wanted to speak about the proposed routes for construction traffic and were pleased to receive an assurance that the new road and bridge off the A18, built for the wind farm construction traffic, would be used.

The final decision will come sometime in the next year or so and we look forward to that.”
