Andrew recently joined local councillors to welcome some grant successes for Alkborough and Burton.
Andrew reports, "Popped to Alkborough and Burton last friday to join Councillors Elaine Marper and Ralph Ogg to hand over some more grant funding to local groups. "This funding is from the Community Grant Pot we set up at the Council when we took control in 2011. The aim of the fund is to support local community groups. "This time it was Burton Village Hall with a grant of nearly £10,000 for the new boiler which is already in place and a £500 grant to Alkborough Cricket Club to cover the room hire for their winter indoor cricket sessions. "Well done to all of the groups. We handed some other grants to other groups which I will post later."
