Airmyn Foreshore Stabilisation Works

Andrew has provided the following update on the Airmyn foreshore stabilisation works.

Andrew explained on Facebook: "I had an update with the Environment Agency this week on a number of flood defence issues in the Goole and Snaith area. I'll provide an update on the others too, but I wanted to let residents know what the latest is with the government-funded £4.6 million scheme for stabilising the Airmyn Foreshore.

"The EA tell me that, for a number of reasons, the works are a little delayed and will now commence in the Spring of next year. Perhaps, understandably, they don't want to commence the works in the Winter as they will be bringing materials in from the river and working from the river.

"The works are aimed at addressing the foreshore erosion and will include sheet piling in sections alongside other anti-erosion works such as boulders and so forth.

"They will update us at the start of next year on the exact dates for the works and what the working hours will be etc. It is expected that the works will take about 6 months to complete.

"I will keep residents updated and rest assured I am continuing the fight for more investment in our area to protect us from flooding."
