The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock MP, has informed Andrew that the Department of Health has completed their review of a capital funding bid from Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust and have agreed to release £8.1 million of funding.
Andrew explains, "This money will go towards the replacement of an MRI scanner at Scunthorpe Hospital and two MRI scanners and one CT scanner at the Grimsby Hospital.
"This is very welcome funding from the government and will help to deliver improved quality and timeliness of care for patients in our area."
