Winterton and Burton Project Funding

Andrew provided the following update on funding projects in Burton and Winterton.

Andrew explained on his Facebook page, "Great to be in Burton and Winterton recently for the official handover of cheques to support some great local projects, including a new sleigh for Santa!

"I joined Ward Councillors, Elaine Marper and Helen Rowson, along with Scunthorpe MP, Holly Mumby-Croft, as we met with the groups involved in these very worthy projects.

"The funding has all come from the North Lincs Community Grant Pot we established at the Council to support local good causes.

"The projects to receive funding in this batch includes Winterton Town Council who received £3,673 for planting as part of the 'In Bloom' project.

"Winterton & District Lions to build a new sleigh for Santa which is used to support their fundraising efforts.

"St Andrew's Church in Burton, which also hosts the Post Office, received about £8000 for vital repairs to the heating repairs and for the development of a community café area in the bell tower.

"Well done to all of the groups involved and thanks to all that they do supporting the local community.

"And no, I don't know why I look so unhappy at the cheque handover for Winterton 'In Bloom'!"
