Update on Riverbank Stabilisation at Airmyn

Andrew has provided the latest update from the EA on the Riverbank Stabilisation works at Airmyn.

Andrew explains, "As I have mentioned previously, the aim of these works is to stabilise and protect the bank of the River Aire in front of the existing flood defences in Airmyn. This is of course a project that was first proposed a number of years ago, with funding only being allocated more recently.

"The EA’s latest update states that approvals have now been granted to complete all of the works for the full length of the scheme and that the goal is to now complete the piling works this year and commence placing stone next year. They add that reinstatement works will then conclude the works and the project should be completed on site by early summer 2023.

"They also confirm that working hours will continue to be restricted from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and that work will be planned around the tide times and will only be carried out in daylight hours.

"As ever, I will be sure to share any further updates I receive."
