Success as Former County Name 'Humberside' Removed from Royal Mail

Andrew is celebrating after Moya Greene, Chief Executive of Royal Mail, announced the removal of the former county name ‘Humberside’ from the Royal Mail database, which it sells to business around the country.

The MP has long campaigned for the removal of ‘Humberside’ from addresses and commended the Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, for recently spearheading an innovative sticker campaign to bring the issue, once again, to the attention of Royal Mail.

Andrew Percy says, “Graham deserves a huge amount of praise for the effort he has put into his brilliant campaign to get rid of Humberside from Royal Mail addresses.

“I wrote to Royal Mail calling for an end to the use of the former county name as a result of complaints from local residents who bring this issue up time and time again.

“South Humberside and North Humberside officially disappeared in 1995, it’s taken nearly twenty years for the Royal Mail to catch up!”
