Road improvement works, costing £317,000 , are due to be carried out in Goole and Hook next month.
Andrew explains, "East Riding Council will be carrying out resurfacing work and introducing new road markings at two locations in the area. I understand that the resurfacing work will begin in Stanhope Street, Goole, on Wednesday 4 November, and will then move on to Church Lane and Westfield Lane in Hook later in the month.

Goole
The scheme will involve resurfacing Stanhope Street between Lower Bridge Street and Clock Tower Roundabout, to replace the existing worn out road surface.
All work on this stretch of road will be carried out at night, between 6pm and 6am, to reduce disruption to traffic.
The work is expected to take 10 nights to complete, weather permitting.
Stanhope Street will be closed to through-traffic during the works, with a signed traffic diversion in place via Normandy Way, Anderson Road, Rawcliffe Road, Boothferry Road, Vermuyden Way, Edinburgh Street, Burlington Crescent, Carlisle Street, and the reverse for outbound traffic.
The council has consulted with Associated British Ports (ABP) to minimise the impact to HGV traffic using the port.
Hook
Resurfacing work in Church Lane and Westfield Lane is due to begin on Monday 23 November and is expected to take four weeks to complete, with work being carried out during the daytime.
The roads will be closed to through-traffic during the works, with access only to properties within the works and for the emergency services.
A signed traffic diversion route will be in place via the A614 Boothferry Road, A614 Airmyn Road, Boothferry Road, Goole, Mariners Street, Stanhope Street, North Street, Hook Road, Goole Road, Hook and High Street, Hook.
The works will be carried out by the council’s highway maintenance team as part of the council’s annual highways maintenance programme to improve the area’s roads.
