Andrew Percy MP

Andrew Percy MP

Member of Parliament for Brigg & Goole and the Isle of Axholme

Local MP Andrew Percy and local Councillors, Caroline Fox and Gordon Megson, will be dropping into various villages this Saturday with a special community bus to undertake a series of open surgeries for local residents.

The team have hired a specially converted bus that will enable residents in many of our more isolated villages to meet with their local representatives to raise local concerns.

Andrew Percy MP says, “I have always said that I wanted to be as accessible an MP as possible and, although I already hold regular surgeries in Goole, I wanted to do more to get out to the smaller communities in our area so that those who find it difficult to get to my fixed surgeries can raise their concerns and issues with me. It is also a great way of keeping in touch with our more rural villages.

The bus will be dropping into various villages throughout the area and we really would like to see as many people as possible, even if it is just for a chat.”

Cllr Caroline Fox adds, “This is a great opportunity for local residents to come and tell us what they are concerned about locally. I am delighted that Snaith Mayor, Cllr John Barrett, has also agreed to join us. As well as listening to local people we will also have information with us to inform people about free home fire checks and other important local schemes.

Too many elected representatives are very good at having plenty to say, but they are not so good at listening. Andrew, John, Gordon and I will be all ears this Saturday!”
