Andrew recently met with Paul Morris, Head of Government Affairs at Vodafone, to lobby them as part of his campaign for improved mobile phone coverage locally. Vodafone were able to confirm plans to improve coverage next year.
Vodafone and o2 are to share infrastructure to expand their reach in more rural communities, allowing them to provide greater coverage and 4G connectivity for speedy internet access on 4G enabled smartphones.
Andrew Percy says, “Rural areas have been getting a raw deal from mobile operators. My meeting with Vodafone however was very positive. It looks like we’re going to see expanded coverage for Vodafone and o2 customers, which should fill in many of the gaps in coverage that residents currently encounter. I started this campaign after residents raised concerns, and I pressed Vodafone on just how important this issue is for local residents and businesses, particularly in Epworth and on the Isle of Axholme.

Paul Morris says, "Vodafone is investing over £1bn in its UK network to launch 4G and upgrade our network. This will lead to big improvements in indoor and outdoor mobile internet coverage across the UK. This investment will result in more than six times more local households and businesses able to receive a good quality mobile internet signal indoors in the constituency."
