M62 Ouse Bridge – Overnight Closures

Andrew has been provided with an overview of roadworks planned for the M62 Ouse Bridge, which will require a number of overnight closures over the next few weeks.

National Highways have explained, "We are now entering a key phase of enabling works before the main joint works commence later in the year. This work includes the establishment of average speed cameras, surfacing works to the bridge deck, replacement of drainage channels and placement of the Network bridging plates that will enable us to undertake works to the joints on the bridge.

"I have attached a schedule of closures, together with a summary of the works taking place during each closure. Whilst we will work to this programme as closely as possible, some are weather dependent that may impact the delivery, but you have my assurance we will look to complete the works as quickly as possible.

"We will be looking to commence the main joint replacement works on the eastbound from January onwards and we are still looking to complete this element of the works by the end of March 2023.

"Once these works are complete, we will then be moving to the westbound carriageway to undertake the joint replacement works on this side of the carriageway. As soon as we have a more detailed programme for these works, I will advise you accordingly.”

Andrew adds, "Residents can also keep up to date on the planned works and closures via the following link: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/yorkshire-and-north-east/m62-ouse-bridge/"
