Andrew has provided a further update on the works taking place on the M62.
Andrew explained on Facebook: "Just been for a walk up to see the contraflow in operation which appears to have eased the traffic.
"Obviously, with fewer lanes, there will still be issues so my priority from now on will be pushing National Highways on the repair work. I appreciate they say this is complex but we want it sorting asap.
"Living where we do surrounded by water from so many tidal rivers (I have been told between 25% and 40% of the UK drains through our area) we just do not have the luxury of lots of alternative travel routes due to the need for bridge crossings!
"Anyways, hopefully this has relieved a lot of the pressure and I will keep the pressure up."
