Increase in the number of people in work since the election

Andrew welcomes new statistics that show the number of people in work in Yorkshire & the Humber has increased by 26,000 in the previous quarter and 113,000 since the 2010 General Election.

Andrew Percy said:

“It is great news that there are 113,000 more people in work in our region since 2010. That’s 113,000 more people getting a regular pay packet, giving them the chance to give themselves and their family a more secure future.

“Of course there is still more to do, but these figures show that the Conservative’s long-term plan to fix the economy is working, getting people off benefits and into work, and delivering a more secure future for people who want to work hard and get on in life.”
