Andrew has provided the following update on government funding for local schools.
Andrew reports, "On top of the recent announcements from the Conservative Government of a new Community Diagnostics Centre in our area and the funding of a multi-million pound energy project in Goole, I am delighted that we have today announced even more funding for our area.
"This time the funding is part of the Condition Improvement Fund which is a £456 million national fund to improve the school estate. In our area the following schools will receive funding - Westwoodside Church of England Academy, Winterton Community Academy, South Axholme Academy and The Axholme Academy.
"We can't release the amounts each school is getting as that would undermine their ability to get best value from the contractors.
"When I was elected to be our MP back in 2010, we inherited a poor school estate with many pupils still been taught in leaking mobile units. Working with North Lincs Council and the government we replaced these creaking units with new classrooms and we have also funded the rebuilding of many schools altogether.
"As a former teacher I know how important the learning space we operate in is for the attainment of our pupils."
