Andrew reports, "Thank you to all the employers, Jobcentre Plus and jobseekers who made Friday's Jobs Fair at the Market Hall such a success.
"The fair was the brainchild of Cllr Anne Handley who was assisted by Cllr Nick Coultish in putting the event on. I approached employers to attend and DWP Jobcentre Plus did an amazing job of organising the jobseekers and structuring the day. A real great effort.
"Many of the employers I spoke to at the event told me they found it really useful as many of them have lots of vacancies at the moment they are keen to fill.
"It was also great to see the Market Hall in use again for the community. Thanks to funding from the Conservative Government which I helped secure, some work to renovate the Market Hall has already been completed.
"The next phase will see a much bigger upgrade and improvement via the government-funded Goole Town Deal. We hope to create a space that can be put to multiple use and become a real focus for the community again."
